Townsville Dosa

Townsville, the capital of Tropical North Queensland, is renowned for its tropical weather, friendly community, and easy-going lifestyle. Chef Sunilprasad, an Indian-born British/Australian national, has made Townsville his permanent home. With extensive travel experience and decades of expertise in the hospitality industry, including leading hotels and cruise lines, Chef Sunilprasad has embarked on a new journey to bring international flavours and dining experiences to the residents and visitors of Townsville in 2020.

Following the success of Townsville's first exclusive dosa eatery, Townsville Dosa, located in the food court at Stockland's, Aitkenvale, Chef Sunilprasad opened his first dine-in multicuisine restaurant, Traditions by TownsvilleDosa, at 117 Bamford Lane in Kirwan. In March 2024, the restaurant relocated to a more prominent location at the Intersection Shopping Centre in Aitkenvale. Traditions by TownsvilleDosa offers a unique combination of authentic flavours from around the globe, blending the concept of healthy South Indian traditions with international cuisine. The restaurant provides a wide selection of pure vegan and vegetarian dishes, with most menu items suitable for a gluten-free diet.

Sunil Prasad

Chef Sunil prasad Started his Hospitality Career in 1994-95 at the catering School, Food Craft Institute Kalamassery, Kerala, India after Graduating, a bachelor’s Degree in economics from Mahatma Gandhi university. Young Sunil always had a childhood dream of traveling around the globe and chose this career to travel, experiment with world food culture, and be fascinated with what the Hospitality industry has to offer for the future. After completing catering School Sunilprasad Joined a Three-year National apprenticeship program at the Ashok Beach Resorts, a Leading Five star Beach resort at Kerala, by the Indian Tourism Development Corporation (THE LEELA) where the thorough base of cooking is laid by traditional Chefs who were famous for their flavors and craftsmanship. In Chef Sunil’s 25-year international career from an apprentice Chef to an Executive Chef for last 16years, Sunil worked through world-renowned Hospitality leaders like,

Being a fan and follower of Chef Marco Pierre White, and working with/Under renowned Chefs like Michele Roux, Lew Kathreptis, Tim Wain-Right Noble, mentors like Devin Grosse etc. fine-tuned Sunil’s skills, knowledge, and attitude towards cooking, managing, and operating a catering unit. Now, coming up with his first ever concept restaurant Chef Sunil combining traditional old school food culture and the modern healthy concept of the young generation.
